American Football: Brady Back On Form
The New England Patriots outclassed their highly favoured opponent the Denver Broncos in week 9, winning 43-21. On the back of a successful, historical week Denver’s Payton Manning was not able to contend with the agility shown by his opponent, Tom Brady. This was the 16th match between these fantastic quarterbacks, however, the fans did not get the battle they thought, as it wasn't particularly competitive affair after the first quarter. Brady threw four touchdown passes during the match up. New England now have an impressive run of 7-2 in which Brady has thrown 18 TD passes and one interception in their last five victories. To make the win all the sweeter for the on-form quarter-back in his 200th career start he has won 155 of those, the most for any quarterback in that many starts. The San Francisco 49ers were edged out by the St Louis Rams losing their second game in a row, 13-10. The Rams have only managed to win three games this season , two before this contest which made them the underdogs, however their recent poor form was not to evident against a poor 49er line-up. The 49ers had no luck as their quarter-back Colin Kaepernick fumbled the ball at the goal line with only 2 seconds remaining. In the last few games it has been clear that Kaepernick has only been able to produce four or five good plays which is a major concern moving on to the remaining weeks for the 49ers. The Rams face the Cardinals next in week 10. If the Rams play like they did against the 49ers, they are widely tipped to win their division. The San Diego Chargers had a dreadful day at the office as they faced the Miami Dolphins in week 9, losing 0-37. The Dolphins who are (5-3) earned their third consecutive victory. The Chargers who are (5-4) lost their third game in a row and remain winless in South Florida since January 1982. Mike Mc Coy, the Chargers head coach urged fans to be patient saying "We'll get this back on track, I promise you”. They face the Raiders in two weeks’ time, giving them a week to get their game together. The Dolphins face the hot team at the moment the Detroit Lions. The Lions have won their last three games and have an impressive 6-2 record heading into the game.In exciting news for European fans the NFL last week announced the games to be played in Wembley in 2015.
