Submissions
What we accept:
We accept anything written by UCC students. This can include, but is not limited to, reviews, opinion pieces, political pieces, interviews, reports, recipes, as well as creative fiction and non-fiction.
Our guideline word-count is 300 - 1,400 words. However, we are happy to give writers as much space as they need, to have their say.
We additionally accept visual media such as photography and art pieces. Any art submissions can be sent directly to Editor-In-Chief James Burfield in the necessary file format.
Here at the UCC Express we seek to represent all students, especially those who find themselves unrepresented and spoken over. We seek to be a safe space for all our students, and encourage all to share their voice.
If you want to write for the UCC Express, but have concerns over spelling, grammar, and punctuation, then rest assured that our team is equipped to help. This is the perfect space for you to try something new, like journalism.
What we DON’T accept:
The UCC Express does not tolerate hate-speech, Fake News, or anything that may be read as defamatory. We all have the responsibility to be factual, and respectful to all our readers.
All work submitted must be your own. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
