Albums
Paramore - Hard Times Hayley Williams & Co went pop, and went hard. It's fun, colorful and poignant. One of the best albums for 2017 for sure. Royal Blood - How Did We Get So Dark?Following up on their raucous debut was always going to be hard, but the boys from Brighton have done so with punchy riffs and melodic hooks aplenty. Fangclub - (Self Titled)Speaking of raucous debuts, the Dublin three-piece have exploded onto the scene with a contemporary take on an often nostalgia stricken genre. Grunge is back. Harry Styles - (Self Titled)It's good, fight me. Wolf Alice - Visions of A LifeThis is technically cheating because it isn't out yet, but if the singles are anything to go by this will be a stellar sophomore effort from the British group.
Films (I've only seen three this year...)
Get OutIt has it all, the suspense, the turns, the comedic best friend. Must watch. DunkirkChristopher Nolan can actually do no wrong, and the soundtrack is sublime. Hans Zimmer + Nolan = good times. Trainspotting 2They pulled it off, they created a wonderful tribute to the original whilst creating an engaging and genuinely interesting narrative. Choose a sequel that doesn't disappoint.
