National Student Media 2016 Open for Entries

With KBC Bank returning as title sponsor for the Smedias, now in their 16th year, the award ceremony that honours the best and brightest of student journalism has opened its nominations once again. The awards are set to take place on April 7th in the Aviva Stadium to highlight both print and online student journalism as well as radio and video production work. Last year saw over 1000 entries with a turnout of over 600 people on the night, this year seems set to build on last year once more.The UCC Express team took home two awards last year with Motley also having an exceptional night and taking away the coveted Magazine of the Year Award among others. If you are currently writing for or have written for either publication, in print or online, then contact the publications as soon as possible to discuss your entry. Award categories include: Short Story of the Year, Blog of the Year, Web Designer of the Year, Editor of the Year, Sports Writer of the Year and Colour Writer of the Year among many others.For further information check out www.smedias.ie or contact any student media outlet on campus.
