UCC Choral Society host 2024 Sounds of Spring concert in aid of Marymount Hospice

By Editor in Chief Claire Watson

The UCC Choral Society will be hosting their annual Sounds of Spring concert on 19 April in Honan Chapel. The concert will start at 7.30 pm. This year the Choral Society will be raising funds for Marymount Hospice. Tickets are selling fast and can be purchased here.

This year the competitive choir ‘UCC Singers’ will be accompanied by alumni to celebrate its 10-year anniversary. Also in attendance will be the society committee and their primary non-audition and non-competitive choir. The ‘UCC Singers’ will be conducted by Ben Jacob, a UCC alumni, and the main choir will be conducted by Anne Dunphy with accompanist Ursula O’Sullivan.

Students may have recently heard the Choral Society perform at the recent Clubs and Society’s ball, as well as at their sold-out Carols by Candlelight concerts last winter. The ‘UCC Singers’ were recently competing in Dublin’s Feis Ceoil, and placed second in their category, scoring an incredible 90 out of 100.

This is sure to be a beautiful event, and all for a brilliant cause. Be sure to pick up tickets before they sell out.
