UCC Security Continue Charitable Tradition

Staff members of UCC's security team have continued their annual tradition of raising money for charity every winter. Last year UCC security raised over €5,000 for Bumbleance: a charity that provides improved and professional medical transportation services for long-term sick and seriously disabled children. This was in only the second year of their charity raffle tradition. This year the chosen organisation for the winter charity drive is Cork Penny Dinners. Penny Dinners is located on Little Hanover Street, quite close to college, and serves well over 1000 dinners per week to people who need it.

This is a fantastic charity which has been in existence since the Famine helping the poor of Cork. There are buckets placed around U.C.C. and we would encourage staff, students and visitors to help fill them. -press release, UCC Security

Donation buckets are located around campus in very visible locations (e.g. Security desk in the O'Rahilly Building) and students, staff & visitors are encouraged to donate if they can. The annual Christmas Charity Draw will begin on December 9th and will finish on December 18th.

Remember: Every penny counts.
